FUR & LEATHER

The fur and leather trade is probably one of the cruelest trades that modern, civilized humans still continue. Not only do we have synthetics that make all practical uses of fur and leather obsolete, we also have alternatives that look twice as good and are made far more environmentally friendly. Let’s highlight the duel cruelties of fur and leather, as well as talk about the alternatives that are cruelty-free, stylish, and environmentally friendly.

Choose a topic:

Teh Leopard says [Why do you want MY skin??!]   And teh croc says [Yah, Isn't YOURS good enough??!]

As you just read, the fur and leather trades are both hideous and cruel, and their practices are never humane. There is no practical use for fur—its previous task of keeping people warm has gone obsolete with the arrival of more heat-efficient synthetics—and no moral use for it either. Leather kills helpless animals, the environment, and the people living and working around the factories. There are loads of stylish and environmentally friendly alternatives, such as cotton, linen, ramie, jute, canvas and synthetics. If you want to roll with the high crowd and wear the most fashionable designer clothes, top designers are now using materials like PVC, spun glass, and pleather. All these alternatives are very common in shopping malls and stores around the world, and there is no excuse to wear animal products in modern society. I mean, really—skin is so 10,000 years ago. There is not but one question to ask yourself now that you have seen the true realities of fur and leather, and that question is: Whose skin did you wear today?
